Layouts are reusable email wrappers for your templates. Use them for shared branding such as headers, logos, typography, content containers, footers and other elements that should remain consistent across multiple emails.
Every Layout must contain
{{content}} exactly once in its HTML.
When a template is rendered, Sendzovo inserts the
rendered template HTML at this location.
How Layouts work
<!doctype html>
<html>
<body>
<div class="email-wrapper">
<header>
Example App
</header>
{{content}}
<footer>
Thanks for using Example App.
</footer>
</div>
</body>
</html>
If a Layout also contains a text version, Sendzovo can
insert the rendered template text into its
{{content}} placeholder as well.
Attach a Layout to a template
Layouts are selected while creating or editing an email template in the Sendzovo dashboard. Once attached, the Layout is applied automatically whenever that template is rendered.
The rendering order is: template variables are
resolved, Layout variables are resolved, and the
rendered template content is inserted into the
Layout's {{content}} placeholder.
Global and domain-specific Layouts
| Layout | Use |
|---|---|
| Global | Can be kept without a specific domain association for reusable account-level design. |
| Domain-specific | Associated with one of your sending domains for domain-specific branding. |
Visual Layout Builder
The Sendzovo dashboard includes a visual Layout Builder for creating reusable email designs. It supports structured content blocks, drag-and-drop ordering, desktop and mobile previews, image uploads and per-block styling.
Layout management is currently performed from the Sendzovo dashboard. Templates can then reference the Layout when messages are rendered through the Send Email API.
Detach any templates using the Layout first. Sendzovo prevents deletion while templates are still attached.
